HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

There’s no doubt about it - High School Seniors are by far my favorite subjects. They are full of self confidence, big ideas and perceive themselves as invincible. More than likely, they will never be more beautiful than they are today. Their journey is just beginning. And, if you listen close enough, you can learn a lot from the younger generation.

It’s such an exciting time in their lives. For the seniors themselves, the best part of the portrait session is the experience: the opportunity to wear their bougie outfits and live like a movie star for a couple of hours, hanging out in a park or downtown area or even a local coffee shop. It’s a lot of fun for everyone. Even passerbys enjoy the excitement.

For the parents, it’s a time to mark one of the most monumental milestones in the child’s life. And, if done right, it will serve as a beautiful reminder of their love, their pride, the child’s accomplishments and a reminder of why they work so hard to provide for the family. Personally, I love my children’s portraits adorning my walls. As a matter of fact, less than an hour ago, my husband stopped to look at our daughter’s wall portrait, as he said out loud, yet to himself, “Ahhh… my little girl.” (She’s a 23-year-old hard-working engineering student, whose beautiful face we don’t get to see often enough.)

My latest HS senior session was with Mary Grace. I’ve been taking her portraits since her Holy First Communion. Now, her 16x24 black and white portrait will adorn the wall of her parents’ home, right alongside her older sisters’ portraitures. Each moment I get to spend with these girls has been my absolute pleasure. They’ve had a great time, whether we played in a horse stable, a beautiful church courtyard or in Historic Downtown Plano, and Mom and Dad get a gorgeous piece of artwork that sparks memories, tears and thoughts of admiration.

High School portrait sessions are a minimal part of my business. However, they do bring me the most joy!!
